Marina Tabassum is the founder and principal architect of Marina Tabassum Architects. She is also a visiting professor at the BRAC University. She was the founder partner of URBANA Architectural Practice at Dhaka and worked as a partner from November 1995 to April 2005 before leaving to start her own independent practice. Among her noted works are the Liberation War Museum and Independence Monument at SuhrawardyUdyan and the Bait urRouf Jame Masjid at Faidabad for which she won the Aga Khan Awardin 2016. As per her design philosophy, her buildings rise from their contexts like plants.
